Black History Month at Kingfisher Hall

It’s been a fantastic Black History Month at Kingfisher Hall and our children have really enjoyed celebrating it.

Throughout the month children have been studying a range of topics relating to Black History Month as well as learning about historic figures like Mansa Musa, who was the leader of the empire of Mali.

Children studied the geography and the economy of the empire while also attempting their own water coloured portrait of Mansa Musa.

Pupils took part in a special Windrush workshop where they learnt about the Windrush generation and the impact they had on British culture.

Throughout the month, we have also had guest speakers share their success stories and talk to the children about overcoming racism and discrimination.

It’s been an inspiring Black History Month at Kingfisher Hall Academy.
