Starting in Reception

"I couldn't be prouder of my son's progress in reception. His ability to read has just taken off, and it's amazing to see. His teachers are supportive, always encouraging him. Every artwork, every new word he learns, fills our home with his pride and our immense joy. "
"Our daughter's first year in school has been wonderful to witness. She has made friends, learned songs, and tells us all about her adventures. Her teachers are kind and patient, making every day a positive experience. It's a delight seeing her so happy and eager each morning, ready for another day of learning and fun."
"Watching our child blossom in reception class has been so lovely. Every day, she comes home with new stories, filled with excitement and curiosity. Her teachers are nurturing, and she's thriving beautifully. We are so incredibly grateful for such a warm, inviting environment at Kingfisher Hall that fosters her growth and happiness."

A Happy Pace to Learn and Grow

Dear families,

We would like to welcome you to Kingfisher Hall Academy and hope that your child will enjoy their time with us.

We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where your child can thrive both academically and socially.

We expect that by the end of their year in Reception, the children will be confident, developing their independence, capable, and ready to continue their learning journey.

We focus on building a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, while also fostering creativity and curiosity through diverse activities.

The Reception children share a separate play area with Nursery to the rest of the school as we want them to feel safe and secure.

This dedicated space is designed to meet the needs of younger children, allowing them to explore freely and confidently in a setting tailored just for them.

Many aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum are delivered outside, and the children will spend time outside every day,

This approach ensures that they benefit from the physical and mental health advantages of outdoor play and learning.

Children are able to develop skills across all areas in both the indoor and outdoor environment, which is rich in resources that stimulate their natural curiosity and desire to learn.

From the mud kitchen to the reading nook, every corner is a learning opportunity.

We look forward to working with you and your child to make the time spent in the Reception year both happy and rewarding.

We believe in a collaborative approach and encourage you to engage with us throughout the year, sharing insights and celebrating milestones.
